Double Entry Journal

Abigal: Sometimes I wake and find myself standing in the open doorway and not stitch on my body!  I always hear her laughing in my sleep.  I hear her singing her Barbados songs and tempting me with-(pg. 1260)

- Abigal is starting to put the blame on Tituba as soon as question are being asked.  She's a quick, good lier.  Abigal took charge of the group when her, Betty, and Mary Warren were alone together.  She even went as far as to threaten the girls if they told the truth.  At the beginning of the story Abigal was described as having "an endless capacity for dissembling."  This clearly shows that Abby is good at hiding the truth and lying to protect herself.

    You picked a great quote, and this is one that the actress, Winona Ryder, brings to life extremely well in the movie.

  2. I agree with Alexis. This is when the true Abigail comes out and she shows all her sides. She is evil and a hypocrite that is trying to blame everyone else but herself
